Kotohira Town mascot character Konpi-kun. The god of good fortune, Konpi-kun, is said to have been born at the Old Konpira Grand Theater, the oldest surviving playhouse in Japan, located in Kotohira Town. His special skills are performing roppo and striking mie poses. He travels to various places and shares information on Twitter and elsewhere to promote the appeal of the playhouse, Konpira Kabuki, and Kotohira Town.
