Official Arashiyama Shopping District character Tsukihashi Wataru. He was created from a design by a student of Kyoto Saga University of Arts and is a boy “about 1,180 years old” who carries Togetsukyo Bridge on his back. To help more people learn about and revitalize Arashiyama and the Arashiyama Shopping District, he has the catchphrase “sumimasen,” posts on Twitter, and appears on television, attracting attention.
