Eiheiji Town image character Eibo-kun. The design was solicited nationwide, while the nickname was solicited within the town. The character was selected from the entries and named Eibo-kun by combining the “ei” from Eiheiji and the “bo” from bonze. He wears a sedge hat inspired by onions, a specialty product of the town, and appears on license plates, in videos, at events, and in many other places.
