Akarui-kai Shopping District mascot Doshin-kun. He is modeled on the gun-bearing doshin of the Hyakunin-tai, one of the gun units presented at the annual festival of Kanna-inari Shrine in Hyakunincho and designated as an intangible folk cultural property of Shinjuku Ward. Kanna-inari Shrine is said to bring good fortune in gambling, and Doshin-kun, who received a purification there, appears at various events as the shopping district's mascot while practicing with his gun and wishing that everyone's hopes will come true.
