Kai City mascot character Yahata-inu. This boy character was created in September 2014, when the city celebrated its 10th anniversary, inspired by the local specialty Yahataimo and the Kai Ken. With a Yahataimo leaf on his head, he appears at many events and gains popularity while helping people nationwide learn about Kai City's attractions.
