Hakone Geopark mascot character Hakojiro. A lively five-year-old boy, he wears a green sedge hat marked HAKONE and a kimono dyed in Odawara style. Apparently, because his legs and back are strong, he can walk briskly along Hakone's mountain paths and the stone pavement of the old highway in his favorite waraji sandals. He appears at events to promote the Hakone Geopark and help more people learn about it.
