Gora Onsen character, Gōran. Gōran was created from a design selected as the grand-prize winner after designs and a nickname were solicited from local junior high school students, and was unveiled in May 2014. Modeled on the mountain 明星ケ岳, where the Daimonji-yaki bonfire—known as a summer tradition of Gora—is held, Gōran wears a pink yukata. Gōran welcomes tourists visiting Gora Onsen and is active in promotion and hospitality by appearing at events.
