Omaezaki City mascot characters Namimaru and Fu-chan. Namimaru, who lives in Hamaoka Sand Dune, is a wave yōkai born on July 3, Wave Day. Fu-chan, who lives near the Shiosai Statue, is a love fairy born on June 12, Lovers' Day. The two are modeled on the legend of Namikozo, one of the Seven Wonders of Enshu. They work hard in promotional activities with the goals of “making Omaezaki City the most vibrant town in Japan” and “making Omaezaki City the most loved town in Japan.”
