Aichi Prefecture crime-prevention character: Ankī-kun. This character was created with the image of “Aichi where people can live safely and securely without crime.” The design was selected from submitted entries in 2004, and the nickname was selected in 2007. The name Ankī-kun combines the “an” of security and safety with the “kī” of key, with green as the main color. He appears in publicity activities and at various events throughout the prefecture together with traffic-safety character Shīberu-chan.
