Toin Town Chamber of Commerce and Industry character: Tōma-kun. He is a horse boy modeled on the horse ritual held at Inabe Shrine in the town. Because Toin is the birthplace of Kōshirō Matsumoto VII, he wears kabuki-inspired clothing and kumadori makeup. After being created by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, he became Toin Town's image character in July 2011. He promotes Toin Town with Toin Yaeyama cherry blossoms, designated as a natural monument of the town, on his head.
