Shirataka Town Chamber of Commerce and Industry Youth Division character, Benitaka-chan. Her design was solicited in January 2014 and her nickname in July. She was named Benitaka-chan from among the submissions and unveiled in August. She is a white hawk girl who came from Mount Shirataka. Wearing a safflower hair ornament and a kimono patterned with safflowers, the flower of Yamagata Prefecture, she flies energetically around promoting Shirataka Town.
