Yamagata Destination Campaign character Kitekero-kun. Kitekero-kun was created after being selected from more than 3,000 entries as the character of the Yamagata Destination Campaign held from June to September of Heisei 26. Based on the shape of Yamagata Prefecture, he expresses the “heartwarming appearance” of people living in Yamagata. “Kitekero” apparently means “please come” in standard Japanese. Carrying a suitcase marked with the Perorin who is active in the same Yamagata Prefecture, he represents enjoying summer in Yamagata during the campaign period.
