Kasugabe Chamber of Commerce and Industry Youth Division character Toro★Rin is inspired by Kasugabe yakisoba, a B-grade local gourmet dish. It is said that Kasugabe yakisoba consists of ankake yakisoba topped with a shiso-flavored sprinkle inspired by the wisteria flowers, the city flower. Kasugabe City is also said to have wisteria over 1,200 years old. Toro★Rin promotes Kasugabe yakisoba at event venues and elsewhere.
