Honai-kai character, Higashiōmi no Gao-san. Higashiōmi no Gao-san is a warning yōkai embodying the “discipline passed down orally in the Higashiōmi region since long ago.” He is several hundred years old. As he comes from oral tradition, his true identity is unknown, but the people of Honai-kai created him as an image character. He is active by appearing on television and at local events while “disciplining and admonishing bad children.”
