Kusatsu City mascot Tabimaru was created as a tourism mascot in Heisei 13 to commemorate 400 years of Kusatsu Station’s history, and later became Kusatsu City’s officially recognized mascot. Since Kusatsu was a post town, he wears a sedge hat and is modeled on an old-time traveler. He travels, which he loves, while appearing at events to promote Kusatsu City, rich in nature and history.
