Shitara Town mascot character Tomashīna-chan. Nine-tenths of Shitara Town is covered by forests, and the town is rich in nature, including the headwaters of three rivers. Because Renaissance tomatoes, called phantom tomatoes, and log-grown shiitake mushrooms are cultivated there, Tomashīna-chan is modeled on a tomato, wears a tengu eggplant skirt, and carries a shiitake mushroom cap. Selected in the September 2013 mascot character election, she is a three-year-old girl who debuted in December.
