Takakki and Hatakki are Takahata Town's mascot characters. They are ogre characters unveiled in April 2014 and based on the fairy tale The Red Ogre Who Cried. Takakki, the red ogre, likes Takahata grapes, and his dream is to make everyone smile. Hatakki, the blue ogre, likes La France pears, and her dream is to play a lot together with everyone. They appear at many events inside and outside the prefecture.
