Official character of the Komono Town Tourism Association, Komoshika. Komoshika was selected from public submissions in March 2014 and unveiled in April, with the Japanese serow living on Mount Gozaisho in Komono Town as its motif. Its horns are apparently made from makomo, a plant said to be the origin of the town’s name. Komoshika is active introducing Komono Town’s hot springs and attractions in videos and appearing at many events to promote the town.
