Murata Town tourism promotion character, Kurarin. Known as a town of storehouses, Murata Town selected Kurarin from many submitted designs, and Kurarin debuted on March 22, 2014. Kurarin's ears are broad beans, tail is safflower, and pouch contains fruit corn called 味来, all local specialties. Kurarin also wears pants featuring namako-kabe, a traditional storehouse pattern. Kurarin works hard by appearing at various events and on television so more people will learn about Murata Town and come visit.
