Naashi-kun is Ainan Town's local character. He is a boy based on the Japanese otter, a specially designated natural monument. He wears a hat made from Ainan Gold, a kawachi-bankan citrus produced in the greatest quantity in Japan by Ainan Town, as well as a pearl necklace and a bib made from hiogi scallops, other local specialties. Named Naashi-kun after a local dialect expression, he was created in August 2013 and appears at many events as a special staff member of the Commerce and Tourism Section of Ainan Town's Commerce and Tourism Division to promote Ainan Town.
