Okayama Prefecture mascots Momocchi and Uracchi. Momocchi was created as an adaptation of Momotarō, Okayama’s hero, and debuted as the mascot of the National Sports Festival held in 2005. From 2006, Momocchi has served as Okayama Prefecture’s mascot. In 2010, Uracchi, a girl modeled on an ogre, joined Momocchi. They are active at events and elsewhere to spread the appeal of Okayama Prefecture inside and outside the prefecture.
