Yakage tourism ambassador, Yakappy. Yakappy, a boy unveiled in May 2014 to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the town's merger, is modeled on the bush warbler, the town bird, with cherry blossoms, the town flower, blooming on his chest. He wears a firefly hat and has appeared at events inside and outside the town, while sharing daily happenings in Yakage Town on Facebook and elsewhere.
