Kisarazu City mascot character Kisapon. There is a temple called Shōjōji near the west exit of Kisarazu Station, and the temple is the setting of the children's song “Shōjōji no Tanukibayashi.” Kisapon is a tanuki character created from ideas by elementary school students to commemorate the 70th anniversary of Kisarazu City's municipal government. The mark on Kisapon's navel expresses that “connections between people spread infinitely.”
