He is approximately 1,500 years old. He is the guardian deity of the “Land of Hinokimi.” On his head he carries a nationally designated Important Cultural Property, a pedestal boat-shaped earthenware vessel; in his right hand he holds a torch; and in his left hand, a leaf from the nationally designated Natural Monument Shimoda Ginkgo. His head and body represent the shape of a keyhole-shaped burial mound.
