Akechi Kamemaru, the Kameoka City Tourism Character, is an energetic boy created with Akechi Mitsuhide as his motif to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the construction of Tanba Kameyama Castle. He was born on October 23, 1573, in the first year of the Tensho era. He wears a turtle shell as a helmet, trains in martial arts, and promotes the appeal of Kameoka throughout Japan.
