The young master of the Fukagawa Nakamonzaemon merchant family, commonly known as “Nakamon,” who runs a merchant house in Edo Fukagawa Monzen-Nakacho, which often appears in Shōtarō Ikenami’s period novels. The happi coat and apron are the marks of a merchant. He is modeled on pigeons that gather at temples and shrines.
