Daifuku-kun was created by focusing attention on wagashi, Japan’s representative traditional sweets. His real name is Tsutsumi Daifuku, he is a five-year-old boy in the Matcha class at a Japanese-style nursery school, and he is the 28th successor of Kofukudo, which has continued since the Edo period. When someone in trouble or someone precious appears, he hugs and “wraps them up.”
