Nishi Ward mascot character Nishimaro-chan was created in 2007 with an image of the ward flower, narcissus. Her name was chosen from entries submitted by ward residents. Because Nishi Ward has long exchanged with Hikone City in Shiga, she participates every year in the Nishi Ward Candle Art event together with Hikonyan to enliven it!
