Mikoro and Hakoro are Okayama City’s image characters. Mikoro, the light-blue character modeled on a water droplet, represents “Okayama City’s abundant water.” Hakoro, the green character modeled on a leaf, apparently represents “Okayama City’s abundant greenery.” The “koro” in both names comes from “beautiful heart.” Their birthday is April 1, 2009, the day Okayama City became a designated city.
