Oppon, Oyamadai’s official mascot character, was selected and created by a vote of local residents in November 2014. The body is modeled on a mountain, and the tail is modeled on a fox because the Kitsunezuka Kofun is near Oyamadai. Loved by local people, Oppon appears at various events and elsewhere and is gaining popularity while helping further invigorate Oyamadai.
