Selected from entries and unveiled in 2015 to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the town’s municipal administration, this character is based on wasabi, a specialty of Okutama Town, and expresses its clear streams and abundant greenery. He wears mitsuba tsutsuji, the town flower, on his head. While living in the town’s clear streams, he appears at various events to enliven and promote Okutama Town.
