Kaisei Town mascot character Ajisai-chan. She is a girl with hydrangea flowers blooming on her head. Hydrangeas are the town flower, and the Hydrangea Festival is held every June, when 5,000 plants color the rice paddies. She works for the town by appearing at tourism events in Kanagawa Prefecture and elsewhere and even becoming a postage stamp, promoting Kaisei Town’s appeal and the Hydrangea Festival.
