Fukuoka Citizens’ Culture Festival mascot character Tobiumemaru. Tobiumemaru (とびうめまる) was created with Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine’s Tobiume plum tree as its motif, after both the design and name were selected from public submissions. Tobiumemaru is six years old and “probably a boy.” Tobiumemaru promotes the prefectural citizens’ cultural festival on websites and elsewhere with the slogans “I’ll go to the prefectural festival, ba(i)! I’ll see it, ba(i)! I’ll participate, ba(i)!” and helps enliven events.
