It is a group of six, with red as the leader. Tokushima Prefecture's history also records that they served as mascots for the 22nd National Cultural Festival Tokushima 2007, making them characters connected with both a cultural event and a marathon.

(The character in the center of the photograph is Sudachikun.) Tokushima Marathon main characters, Chikkāzu. Modeled on bamboo chikuwa, a specialty of Tokushima Prefecture, the six characters—red as leader, blue, green, purple, orange, and pink—debuted in June 2006. (In Tokushima, chikuwa are apparently called “chikka.”) After serving as the mascot characters for the National Cultural Festival Tokushima held in 2007, they became the main characters of the Tokushima Marathon. Orange is said to be on a solo assignment in Tokyo, currently focusing on promotional activities in the Tokyo metropolitan area. Their dream is to become “Tokushima Prefecture's number-one yuru character,” and they are active at events.
