Nomi-style okonomiyaki character Nomimaru-kun. The Nomi-style okonomiyaki “Nomimaru,” placed on his head, is modeled on Maruga maruimo, a specialty of Nomi City, and apparently a freshly cooked one is placed there every day. Nomimaru-kun was created in September 2013, when Maruga maruimo reached its 100th anniversary, growing from the size of three maruimo to 100. He works hard with the goal of helping more people learn about Nomi City and the okonomiyaki “Nomimaru,” visit, and make the city livelier. Apparently, he sometimes transforms according to the season?
