Black Bancho, the Itoigawa Black Yakisoba Mascot Character, is a boy squid created to promote Itoigawa Black Yakisoba, a local dish served at restaurants in Itoigawa City and made with squid ink. His goal is “zenkoku-seishi,” turning the mouths of everyone in Japan completely black with Itoigawa Black Yakisoba.
