Ishikawa Prefecture tourism PR character Hyakumansan. Hyakumansan was created before the opening of the Hokuriku Shinkansen in Heisei 27 (2015) as the prefecture's advertising figure to promote the line. With Kaga Hachiman Okoshi, a traditional toy from Ishikawa Prefecture, as his motif, he “tightly condenses Ishikawa Prefecture's diverse culture.” The body is decorated with Ishikawa's famous products, evoking lavish splendor. In addition to promoting the Shinkansen, he appears at many events inside and outside the prefecture to promote Ishikawa's attractions.
