Kawachinagano City character for promoting lifelong learning Kuromaro-kun. Kuromaro-kun was created in Kawachinagano City, which promotes itself as an education-oriented city, with Takamuko no Kuromaro (Takamuko no Kuro Maro) as his motif. Born in Kawachinagano, he went to China in 608 as Japan's first publicly funded overseas student and lived there for 32 years. After returning to Japan, he became a doctor of national affairs and was active in diplomacy.
