Koroton

Maebashi City mascot character, Koroton. Maebashi City is one of the country's leading pork-producing areas and raises many branded varieties of pigs. Restaurants in the city apparently offer various pork dishes, including tonkatsu, sauce katsudon, and yakiniku. Koroton is a piglet created as the mascot character of “TONTON no Machi Maebashi.” Koroton shares information mainly about famous pork dishes, as well as tourism information about Gunma Prefecture and Maebashi City, adding “koro” at the end of sentences on Twitter and Facebook. Koroton appears at events in various places and attracts popularity because of the character's cuteness.
